Cancer Vixen

“What happens when a shoe-crazy, lipstick-obsessed, wine-swilling, pasta-slurping, fashion-fanatic, about-to-get-married big-city girl cartoonist with a fabulous life finds . . . a lump in her breast?” That’s the question that sets this powerful, funny, and poignant graphic memoir in motion. In vivid color and with a taboo-breaking sense of humor, Marisa Acocella Marchetto tells the story of her eleven-month, ultimately triumphant bout with breast cancer—from diagnosis to cure, and every challenging step in between.

Dear Ladies,

If u find a lump in your breast. U gonna take action as soon as possible,k >.~

Lumps in the breast are common and the vast majority will be a symptom of a normal breast change or a benign (not cancer) breast condition.
Lumps can occur at any time, though some are more common in certain age groups. For example, in younger women (15-30) they are often fibroadenomas, while breast cysts are more common in women aged between 35 and the menopause

A lump in the breast, under the arm or near the collar bone can also be a symptom of breast cancer.
It’s important to get any breast lump checked out by your GP (local doctor). If necessary they can refer you to your local breast cancer clinic for further tests to find out what the lump is.

I found a lump in my breast when i was medical student. Honestly, i was horrified =.=''''''. They suggested me to remove it. Alhamdulillah after the operation, it was only benign tumour known as fibroadenoma.
Just do some regular palpation in order to find any abnormalities * my aunt passed away because of breast cancer *

Breastfeeding Helps Prevent Breast Cancer, Lowers Your Risk

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Lower Estrogen Exposure * interesting right >.~ *

Pregnancy before age 30 and breastfeeding reduce a woman's total number of lifetime menstrual cycles, which is thought to be the reason they help lower your risk. The hormone estrogen fuels 80% of all breast cancers. Since pregnancy and lactation reduce your estrogen levels, your risk is decreased each time you are pregnant and while you are nursing your baby.

Benefits of being breastfed baby Y^o^Y

Benefits for mothers

  • Bonding between mother and child
  • Breastfeeding releases oxytocin and prolactin, hormones that relax the mother and make her feel more nurturing toward her baby. This hormone also can help mother to sleep.
  • As the fat accumulated during pregnancy is used to produce milk, extended breastfeeding—at least 6 months—can help mothers lose weight...*easy way to lose weight >.~*
  • Natural family planning ^_____^

very interesting stuff to learn especially young parents
