Question 1 (neurology/neurosurgery)

Please do correct me if im wrong,k *still finding partners for study group* perhaps online discussion, anyone interested?? just wanna make it more fun to study Y^o^Y

Honestly,  I have no idea whats goin on here.... =.='''' After watching diz video regarding middle meningeal artery...ahhh now i got it >.~

Epidural or Extradural hematoma. Note the biconvex shape hemorrhage.

Epidural or extradural hematoma is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in which a buildup of blood occurs between the dura mater (the tough outer membrane of the central nervous system) and the skull

                                                               Enjoy watching this video ^___________^

Can u smell something fishy regarding diz question????

After been hit, he was unconscious for few minutes...Later on, he recovered... and he collapsed again 6 hours after the game..... diz kind of event known as Lucid Interval -temporary improvement.. big indication why it's epidural or extradural hematoma

In emergency medicine, a lucid interval is a temporary improvement in a patient's condition after a traumatic brain injury, after which the condition deteriorates. A lucid interval is especially indicative of an extradural hematoma

Back to the question....

Initially, he was complaining of having headache. As time goes by, he became progressively drowsy and vomited twice. He was brought unconscious to A&E after complaining of headache. His right pupil dilated.

Why?- Extradural haematoma compress the brain which leads the increasing of  Intracranial Pressure (ICP)..  that's why patient having headache and worsening with drowsy, vomiting........

When intracranial pressure (ICP) severely increasing.....it leads to coning or (brain herniation),
thats why patient having his right pupil dilated ( 3rd nerve palsy ) - coning at tentorium cerebelli.

Several types of herniation

  1. Subfalcine Herniation
  2. Central Herniation
  3. Transtentorial Herniation
  4. Tonsillar Herniation
  5. Upward Herniation *u can search better image for diz one* >.~

Fun ways u can remember 12 cranial nerves and its functions   ^_______^

Drawing - i prefer diz one, atleast i can paste it on the wall my so called mona lisa sketch....
